Stamford, CT - Chelsea Piers Connecticut has announced its spring line-up of skill training clinics for athletes who play team sports. The basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and ice hockey programs will each offer once a week spring clinics with a low coach to child ratio that will help young team athletes perfect specific skills such as shooting and finishing, goalie position skills, puck handling, and more.

These clinics focused on specific skills within the team sports environment are geared to athletes who would like some extra practice time to focus on areas of development in their game with professional level coaches. Clinics will allow for more personalized coaching that is hard to achieve in a traditional team sports practice setting. The small group in-season skill training can accelerate a player’s performance during the course of the season.

“Team sports are so great for children for so many reasons,” commented Ryan Equale, Assistant Executive Director, Chelsea Piers Connecticut.

“The challenge with many of the team sports is that if your child
requires some specific attention on one skill to take their game to the next level, it’s hard for the coach to isolate that one player.
Additionally, the professional coaching skills offer more strategies and drills to improve hard to master items such as explosiveness, shooting to score, decision making, offensive and defensive options and weak side skill development.”

Clinics will be offered once a week around team training in:

• Lacrosse Goalie Offense and Defense training
• Soccer Goalie clinics
• Soccer shooting and finishing
• Basketball perimeter and post 1-on-1 and 2-on-2 moves
• Hockey tryout tune up clinics
