Free public scuba tryout offered in Norwalk

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to Scuba dive underwater? Yes? Why not find out - for free! Stamford-based Capt. Saam’s Scuba School recently announced that it will be holding a FREE Scuba ‘Try-Out’ for the general public ages 10 and up at the YMCA of Norwalk, 370 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT on April 2, 2011, 10 AM - 2 PM.

Just bring a bathing suit and Capt Saam will supply the rest! (Minors will need a parent or guardian to sign up.) Scuba Diving Instructors and expert Divemasters from Capt Saam’s Scuba School will show you what Scuba diving is all about. And there will also be a demonstration of the latest Emergency Underwater Rescue Techniques used by highly-trained life-saving first responders to emergencies in lakes, rivers, and open water.

This event will be presented FREE of charge to the public at the:

Co-sponsor of this special event, the Norwalk YMCA has been providing the community with sports, wellness and educational programming for over 150 years, and offers a wide variety of aquatic programs for all ages. YMCA Swim Lessons are taught by certified instructors with additional safety training in CPR, First Aid, and AED administration. The “Y” also offers Lifeguard Training, which includes certification in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR for the professional rescuer & AED administration. About Capt. Saam’s Scuba School:
Founded in 1995 and managed by Dive Instructor Saam Greenman, Capt. Saam’s Scuba School is a full-service Scuba diving resource based in Stamford, CT. Capt. Saam’s offers a wide range of PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) and NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) certified training programs for beginner, intermediate and professional divers. In addition, Capt. Saam’s offers dive trips and charters on the Silver Dolphin, the largest dive boat in CT, to exciting dive sites, and Live Aboard dive trips to Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Capt. Saam’s Stamford, CT, store stocks an array of the latest and best in Scuba and Rescue equipment, as well as snorkeling and surfing equipment and accessories. Capt. Saam Greenman is a Diving Instructor Trainer and Course Director as well as an American Red Cross Instructor, American Heart Assoc.
