More than 5,000 parent/child and husband/wife teams compete at Pilot Pen

The champions of the Pilot Pen Tennis Family Classic, sponsored by USTA New England, AT&T and Dalton Contracting Co., were crowned yesterday at Pilot Pen Tennis at Yale. This year, from January through July, more than 5,000 participants competed in 89 local events at tennis facilities throughout Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. The event, now in its tenth year, has seen participation grow exponentially. The results in each division are below.

About Pilot Pen Tennis at Yale
Pilot Pen Tennis at Yale, an Olympus US Open Series event on the ATP World Tour and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, will be held August 20-28, 2010 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale and feature a number of international tennis stars. The 2009 Pilot Pen, whose champions are Caroline Wozniacki and Fernando Verdasco, drew more than 78,000 spectators and was televised nationally for 16 hours on ESPN2 and CBS Sports.
