Trumbull Racquet Club hosts USTA Junior Singles Tournament

Recently on January 22, 2012 the Trumbull Racquet Club hosted a 10 and Under “Orange Ball” sanctioned USTA Junior Singles Tournament. The tournament was run by tennis professional Mike Slattery at Trumbull Racquet Club.

The 10 and Under team played a round robin singles on a 60-ft court with a regulation orange ball. Orange balls are the same size as a standard yellow ball, but are lighter and bounce lower. Play is on a mid-sized court with a standard net and juniors continue to build technique and tactical skills.

Participants in the boys division 10 & Under “Orange Ball” tournament included Calvin smith, Michael Miller, Luke Brodsky, Matthew Glassman, Educardo Andrade, Alex Visser, Nicholas Ivanov and Liam Hovorka.

Participants in the girls division 10 & Under “Orange Ball” Tournament include Hallie Gallo, Iris Gallo, symphony Akinloye, Isabella Nesbett, Sophia Alfero, Sophia Zhang, Hannah Smith, Sana Nagori and Kayla Dean.
