Mary-Jane Foster, CEO of the Bluefish said, “We are proud of our annual partnership with the Red Cross and hope by raising the community’s awareness of the need for adequate supplies of blood, we can help our friends at the Red Cross. The Red Cross is always there for us in emergencies and this is one way the community can show its support for this great organization. I hope we will have a record number of donors this year.” All donors will receive one free ticket and a discount coupon for guests to the Thursday, September 18 game for “Blood Donor Day”. The Bluefish and American Red Cross will thank all blood donors for their contribution by inviting them onto the field for a pre-game parade around the warning track. The blood drive will benefit patients treated throughout the state of Connecticut. Pre-registration is preferred but walk-ins will be accepted. To be eligible to donate blood you must be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds; valid identification is required. To register for the blood drive, visit www.bloodct.org or call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE for more information.
