Bridgeport, CT - The Bridgeport Bluefish have announced that long time Bridgeport Bluefish fan Ricky Weir, of Naugatuck, CT, will be getting a Bluefish tattoo during the Thursday, August 7th game against the Lancaster Barnstormers.
There are many ways that fans have shown their support for the Bridgeport Bluefish during their 17-year history of Atlantic League play. Fans have created signs, unique chants, and worn special jerseys during various games to cheer on the Bluefish. But Ricky Weir decided to go above and beyond the usual supporting methods.
“We knew Ricky was a true fan, but he has now taken it to the next level,” said Bridgeport Bluefish General Manager Ken Shepard. “He is hardcore and we love it! He will be a walking billboard for us. He deserves the season ticket!”
Weir will be getting a five-inch Bluefish tattoo, done by Ritual Ink of Milford, CT, on an exposed location on his arm during the Thursday, August 7th game and fans will be able to watch the drawing of the tattoo in the Bluefish Gear Shop down the third-base line on the concourse. For Weir’s dedication to supporting the Bluefish and receiving the tattoo, he will be getting two 2015 Bridgeport Bluefish Season tickets.
“When people ask me who my favorite baseball team is I say the Bridgeport Bluefish,” said Weir. “I have been coming to the ballpark since it opened. The Ballpark at Harbor Yard is the best thing to event happen to Bridgeport.”
Fans who come to the game on Thursday, August 7th and have an exposed area tattoo can receive a “Tat-Two” two-dollar discount off of a box seat for that evening’s game. For more information about the event, please visit bridgeportbluefish.com or call (203) 210-BLUE.
