The Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League of Professional baseball announced the signing of pitcher Jordan Pals. The 6’8, 205 lb right-hander brings five seasons of professional baseball experience to Bridgeport including one brief stint with the Bluefish.

The St. Louis Cardinals selected Pals in the 20th round of the 2003 draft. He made an immediate impact with rookie-league Johnson City in 2003, going 2-2 with a 2.16 ERA and 24 strikeouts in eight starts. Between class-A Peoria and class-A advanced Palm Beach in 2004, Pals posted a 2.77 ERA and 10 wins in 23 starts and held his opposition to a .255 batting average.
Pals, currently 27-years old, made back-to-back 27 start seasons in 2005 and 2006 with Springfield (Cardinals AA). In 2005 his 3.83 ERA ranked in the top 10 with a career-high 102 strikeouts. The tall righty made his way to the Atlantic League in 2007 and made one start with the Bluefish in May before undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery.

Over his career Pals has a 3.95 ERA in 92 appearances (91 starts). He has 309 strikeouts to just 132 walks over 522.1 innings with a .278 opponent batting average.

The Bridgeport Bluefish Professional Baseball Club, a charter team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, plays its home games at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, located off Exit 27 of I-95 on the corner of Broad Street and South Frontage Road in Bridgeport. 2008 season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 203-345-4800.
