The Bridgeport Bluefish (33-21, 65-52) defeated the Road Warriors (13-40, 35-81) by a score of 11-3 at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd of 5,345.

Bluefish starter Raymar Diaz (9-1) earned the victory as the righthander worked six innings while allowing one run on four hits and three walks. Diaz also struck out four on Saturday. After Hector Carrasco allowed two runs, Antonio Alfonseca and Matt Smith combined for two scoreless innings and gave up three hits and a walk while fanning two.

Road Warriors hurler Miguel Martinez (6-12) suffered the loss. The southpaw completed four innings and allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out two. Kyle Asleton, Brian McCullough and Roberto Giron got through the final four Bluefish offensive innings for the losing team. The tandem surrendered four runs on seven hits and two walks

The Road Warriors scored the first run of the night on a wild pitch by Diaz with the bases loaded, however, Bridgeport responded in the second. With runners at first and third, Luis Rodriguez launched his ninth homer of the season. The three-run drive to leftcenter gave the Bluefish a 3-1 lead. After the Rodriguez at-bat, Brandon Chaves walked and scored on a double to leftcenter by Prentice Redman. A bloop single to right by Andres Perez set up runners at the corners. After Perez stole a base, Wes Bankston hit a double down the left field line to give Bridgeport a 6-1 advantage.

The road squad scored two runs in the seventh. A two-out bases loaded walk by Danny Gonzalez followed by a hit-by-pitch to Josh Johnson got the Warriors within four. The Bluefish would have an answer in the seventh and put the game away. With the bases loaded, Brandon Chaves cleared the bases with a triple to rightcenter. The Bluefish shortstop scored the final run of the night on a wild pitch.

Redman finished with four hits on the night while Perez ended his evening with three.
