Letter to the editor: "Help Stamford Day"

I’d like to propose that August 10, 2010 be renamed “Help Stamford Day”. August 10th will mark the first time in history that Stamford has two of its citizens running in their respective political party’s primary for Governor of the State of Connecticut. This August 10th represents an incredible opportunity for all Stamford residents, regardless of political affiliation, to vote for direct representation in Hartford by voting for either Michael Fedele (for our Republican neighbors) or for Dan Malloy (for our local Democrats).
We can’t imagine anything better for Stamford than to have one of its citizens as Governor of the State of Connecticut. Both Michael Fedele and Dan Malloy graduated from Westhill High School, in the same class. Unlike the other frontrunners in their respective parties, these Stamfordites actually have a deep knowledge of the issues Stamford faces and more importantly, they are both keenly aware of how our state works. Their competitors know little to nothing about state government. Our state has major issues that need immediate action, and we don’t have time for on-the-job training. Their opponents are citizens of Greenwich, and enjoy a lifestyle that few residents of Connecticut can even imagine. Michael Fedele and Dan Malloy represent the dreams that many Stamford parents have for their children – that they should grow up to have a better lifestyle while remaining productive and concerned citizens of our community.
Michael Fedele and Dan Malloy are both hard working men who understand the needs of Stamford and the needs of Connecticut. They would both make us proud.
Can you think of better representation for the city of Stamford than to have one of our own citizens as Governor of the State of Connecticut? If you are a registered Democrat or a registered Republican, please participate in “Help Stamford Day” and vote on Tuesday August 10th for either Michael Fedele or Dan Malloy.
