Chelsea Piers Connecticut announces plans for a 6,000 square foot child care center and preschool. Located within the Chelsea Piers sports complex in Stamford, Connecticut, the CP Kids Early Childhood Education Center will have six rooms, each age appropriately designed to provide children ages 3 months to 5 years with unique and dynamic opportunities to grow physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally.

Similar to its sister facility at Chelsea Piers New York, CP Kids will offer a comprehensive in-classroom curriculum led by experienced and nurturing early childhood educators. The curriculum will encourage children to learn through exploration of materials and ideas. Activities will facilitate language development, fine motor skills, spatial/mathematical sense, and creativity. The community of CP Kids will encourage children to gain independence and build relationships with peers and teachers. Students will also be offered unique age-appropriate athletic opportunities within the larger facility, including opportunities for swim lessons, gymnastics classes, soccer classes, tee ball classes, ice skating lessons and much more.

“CP Kids in New York has changed our lives. We could not be happier with the facility, the teachers and the community as a whole. My kids have had opportunities that I never dreamed possible,” commented Leona Casella, CP Kids mom of two.

“We are thrilled to be building our 2nd early learning center, expanding upon the highly successful model we developed at our center at Chelsea Piers New York. CP Kids will be unparalleled in its physical facility, curriculum and teaching staff,” explains Mollie Marcoux, CPCT Executive Director.

The center will offer full-day and half-day program options, Monday through Friday. Families may choose 2 to 5 days per week. Each brand new classroom will be bright, sunny, warm and fully-equipped with the latest technology and equipment. In addition to having daily access to the indoor sports facility, CP Kids will also have its own private outdoor play space within the complex.

CPCT will begin accepting applications in January 2012, with a limited full-day summer program beginning July 2012 and the 2012-2013 school year beginning September 2012. An Open House for interested families will be scheduled in February.

Chelsea Piers Connecticut (CPCT) is a 400,000-sq-ft state-of-the-art sports and recreation facility located in Stamford, CT, just off I-95 at Exit 9. Slated to open in June 2012, Chelsea Piers Connecticut will consist of seven core sports facilities encompassing more than 18 sports.

The Rinks - Twin rink skating facility for ice hockey and figure skating
Aquatics Center - Olympic-sized pool, warm water instructional and exercise pool, and 6,000 sq-ft water play area featuring three giant slides
Gymnastics Training Center – 15,000 sq-ft gymnastics training space with a recreational trampoline center and cheerleading program
Baseball and Softball Training Facility – Indoor turf infield and five batting cages
Field House – Indoor 100-yard turf field for soccer, lacrosse, football, field hockey, softball and baseball; hardwood courts for basketball and volleyball; and a 1/5-mile track.
Squash Center – Squash Center with 12 courts
Tennis Center - Tennis Center with seven indoor tennis courts

Like Chelsea Piers New York, CPCT will combine athletic facilities with an extensive array of professional instructors and league programs for youths, teens and adults.

In addition to these sport offerings, CPCT will also be home to:

Childcare facility and preschool - Small class sizes, certified teachers and use of the sports facilities at CPCT
Food Service - Food service, event spaces, and catering throughout the facility
Pro Shop – An on-site pro shop for equipment needs
