Synergy Center Corporation announces two new innovative programs this fall for youth who are challenged by social interactions — Sensational Synergy with Coach Bill Barker’s Madison Hoop Dreams and Synergy Sk8s with the Worship Skateboard Team. These one-of-a-kind social skills learning opportunities focus on building confidence in children ages 6-14 who are challenged by social interactions.

Kids ages 9-14 team up with Synergy’s staff and volunteers for Sensational Synergy with Coach Bill Barker’s Madison Hoop Dreams a series of basketball and social skill building sessions. Players will learn the fundamentals of basketball and the social skills necessary to be part of a team in a safe, non-threatening manner. Players are fully supported under the guidance of Synergy’s qualified professional staff.

Hoop Dreams meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6 PM, beginning September 8 through October 25 at the Robert H. Brown School in Madison. For more information or to register, visit connectwithsynergy.com. Discounts are available for Madison residents.

Synergy and the Worship Skateboard Team of Norwich, Connecticut show kids ages 6-14 how to hit their skateboards during Synergy Sk8s at the Madison Arts Barn Skate Park on the Madison Town Campus. Synergy Sk8s, a new-age therapeutic riding program, combines Yoga, skateboarding and social skills instruction for a sensory-filled experience. Evidence indicates that traditional therapies blended with age-appropriate activities can have profound effects on children with social deficits such as increased language usage, improved focus and relaxed behaviors, thus the goal of Synergy Sk8s.
