Stamford, CT - Superintendent Stamford Public School (SPS) Earl Kim and the Stamford Board of Education (BOE) announced the appointment of Kendra Brown as Director of Early Childhood Education, effective on July 1, 2018.

Brown has been serving as interim director since July 2017. Prior to that position, Brown was the assistant principal at Davenport Elementary School for three years. She has also held numerous positions since joining the district in 2008, including Scientific Research-Based Interventions (SRBI) teacher, Special Education teacher and Individual Learning Needs Coach (ILNC). Brown holds her Sixth Year Certification from the University of Bridgeport, a Master of Science in Remedial Reading/Remedial Language Arts Specialist from Southern Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Saint Joseph.

The two additional appointments on the agenda, Assistant Principal K.T. Murphy Elementary School and Principal Rippowam Middle School, were not voted on as there was no quorum of the BOE at that time.
