Stamford, CT - Superintendent Stamford Public Schools Dr. Winnie Hamilton and the Stamford Board of Education announce the appointment of two administrators, effective July 1, 2013.
Brendan F. Fox will become Principal of Turn of River Middle School, replacing Dr. Michael Fernandes who was recently appointed Assistant Superintendent for Secondary. Fox is currently Assistant Principal at Rogers International School, a position he has held since 2012. Fox has also held positions in Stamford as Assistant Principal at Turn of River from 2009-2012; District Project Manager of the GE Foundation Developing Futures in Education program; and for nine years as a Teacher/Program Coordinator at Dolan Middle School.
Prior to this experience, Fox spent a one-year International Fellowship in Bangkok, Thailand, where he served as a teacher and a youth center coordinator. Fox also taught and coached at King & Low-Heywood Thomas School in Stamford.
Fox holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont; his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport, and his Educational Leadership Certificate from the University of Connecticut.
Angela M. Asaro will become assistant principal at Stillmeadow Elementary School, replacing Lisa Saba Price, who was recently named Principal of Newfield Elementary School. Asaro is currently a Second Grade teacher at Stillmeadow, a position she has held since 2006. She is also a Grade Level Leader and has held positions of Elementary Math Liaison and Co-teacher for Second and Fifth grades.
Asaro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mercy College in New York and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport.
