There’s no doubt that the newly opened Amore Cucina & Bar in Stamford’s Springdale neighborhood is already making its mark on the restaurant scene. After all, the staff is a wild mix of flavor and fun with six-time World Pizza Champion and Food Network talent Bruno DiFabio, combined with pizzaiola Steve Cioffi and rock star executive chef Jared Falco. Bruno, a charitable man by nature, is excited to support a local foundation that he and his staff have a personal connection with, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. To help raise funds in support of the foundation’s annual “Race for the Cure” event on April 27, 2015, Amore Cucina & Bar will donate 100% of the day’s sales – both lunch and dinner – to the cause. The funds will go directly to supporting breast cancer research and future programs through this CT chapter. The actual “Race for the Cure” will be held on May 9, 2015 at the Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT.
Bruno made his first pizza as a kid in the former Amore Restaurant, and with numerous awards, 11 restaurants, and several Food Network gigs later, he returned to the establishment with fresh ideas, one of the most innovative menus around, and an all-new perspective on pizza-making and Italian cuisine. Amore Cucina & Bar pays homage to its predecessor by offering classic Italian specialties, house made pastas and pizzas, while infusing every dish with their unique culinary interpretations.
“The Stamford community has welcomed Amore with open arms and for that I am thankful,” says DiFabio, “We always want to pay our good fortune forward. I chose the Susan G. Komen foundation because some of my staff has had family members who have battled breast cancer and it’s a way we can all come together at the restaurant, as a family, and raise awareness – and critical funds. So this Monday, our restaurant is your restaurant. Please join us.”
