Source Coffeehouse Wins Latte Art Competition at new Shearwater Coffee Bar

FAIRFIELD, CT - Java junkies and art enthusiasts gathered at the new Shearwater Coffee Bar in Fairfield’s Brick Walk on Thursday night, July 20 for a latte art competition throwdown. There were 4 elimination rounds where dual competitors randomly picked the size (maacchiato, cortado, cappuccino, and latte) and design (heart, tulip, rosetta, and swan) of their latte art creations.

Participants included baristas from Shearwater, Tusk and Cup, Source Coffeehouse, as well as an independent local barista, who are always encouraged to join in the fun. Judges included Gina Zammit, well-known food and travel writer and current editor of Hamlet Hub Norwalk, Natalie Scherbaum of @New_England_Foodie instagram account along with a local artist.

Andrew Parker from Source Coffeehouse in Black Rock, Bridgeport was the ultimate winner with his picture perfect latte with tulip design.

Monday Night Trivia: Starting Monday September 18th and repeating every other Monday at 8pm. We will play 5 seconds of a song and attendees write down what they think the song title is. Winners get local shopping gift cards

September 14th - Thursday Night Latte Art Throwdown- Head to head competition from local baristas to create the most inspiring latte art. Judges pick winners.

September 28th - Thursday Night "Coffee and Canvas" - Members of Fairfield University and Sacred Heart art clubs compete for best work on canvas.

October 21st - Saturday "Poetry Slam/Open Mic Night" 8pm to 10pm. Local university performing artists step up to the mic and try to win over the audience

October 28th - Saturday Halloween Costume Party - Free coffee those who come in costume.

Bingo Thursday - Starting Thursday November 9th at 8pm - 9pm. Winners get local shopping gift cards.
