DANBURY, CT - Matthew G. Cassavechia, Director of Western Connecticut Health Network Emergency Medical Services is pleased to announce that a Basic Emergency Medical Technician Course will take place at Danbury Hospital starting Tuesday, January 21, 2014. The three-month course meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7 to 11 p.m.; some Wednesday evenings also from 7 to 11 p.m., and occasional Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Basic Emergency Medical Technician Course will meet in John C. Creasy Center for Health Education Auditorium located on the 5th floor of the Tower Building.

Course participants must enter and exit the Danbury Hospital through the Stroock Building Main Entrance located on the first floor at the Praxair Cancer Center. Parking is available in the Red Parking Garage using the Locust Avenue entrance.

Upon completion of the EMT-Basic course students will be qualified to take the National Registry exams to receive your Connecticut and National EMT-B certification.

Emergency Training Resources far exceeds the requirements for state and national EMS programs by providing students with more hands-on experience and follow-up with real world practice in the Emergency Department and on the ambulance with our EMT’s and paramedics.

As a member of the EMS team, you can make a difference. During EMT training, students will gain the knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary to be a valuable part of the Emergency Health Care System.

Fee for the three month course is $795 and includes course work and associated materials. Payment must be submitted in full before the start of the program. All students will be subject to a criminal background before classes begin. Personal check, bank check, money order or credit card is an acceptable form of payment.
