Breast Health Specialist Joins Norwalk Hospital

Norwalk, CT - Laura Gianninoto, MSN, FNP-BC, OCN, of Shelton has joined Norwalk Hospital as a breast health specialist at the Smilow Family Breast Health Center located at 148 East Avenue in Norwalk. The Smilow Family Breast Health Center has recently opened this second location on East Avenue.

The Norwalk Radiology and Mammography Center is also located at 148 East Avenue. By having an extension of the Smilow Family Breast Health Center located at this site, breast health services for patients are convenient and easily accessible.

Ms. Gianninoto, a nurse practitioner specializing in breast health, is available to answer questions and assist patients who have abnormal imaging results, navigating them through follow-up diagnostic tests or treatments needed, collaborating with other medical disciplines when necessary.

The goal of the Smilow Family Breast Health Center is to offer patients ongoing support and connect them with all needed services in order to provide a definitive diagnosis as rapidly as possible.

Prior to joining Norwalk Hospital, Ms. Gianninoto was an advanced practice registered nurse with Fairfield County Breast Surgery, Stamford Health Integrated Practices. She was previously an infusion registered nurse with the Norwalk Medical Group.

Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, she is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, Oncology Nursing Society, American Society of Breast Diseases and American Society of Breast Surgeons.

She holds her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Connecticut and earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Fairfield University.
