SOUTHINGTON, CT - The Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) reminds the public about a valuable free resource. The CSDA website includes a calendar of free dental services taking place throughout the state.
“We want to be a resource to the public,” said Carol Dingeldey, CSDA Executive Director. “Connecticut dentists and oral hygiene professionals throughout the state provide free dental services to those who would not otherwise be able to afford them and we want to make the public aware.”
This CSDA charitable dental outreach calendar lists everything from health fairs to free dental programs taking place throughout the state. “By sharing these opportunities with the public, we hope to provide them with a service they may not otherwise receive,” continued Dingeldey.
Programs listed on the charitable dental outreach calendar are not coordinated by the CSDA, but are provided by dental practices and other health organizations throughout the state. The CSDA is acting as a resource for informing the public about these programs and services. Although there are many dental services listed on the calendar, not all Connecticut programs are shown. The CSDA is only able to list programs that we are told about and some of the programs may have requirements such as appointments being needed, age and/or region restraints.

Lastly, the Connecticut Coalition for Oral Health (CCOH) recently held a video contest and announced Andrew Rosenstein, a fourth year student at UConn School of Dental Medicine, as the winner. The winning video explains the importance of oral health in a humerous way. The video will be used in public service announcements during National Childrens’ Dental Health Month in February.
