DANBURY, CT - Danbury Hospital is joining forces with Atlanta-based Morrison Healthcare to bring delicious, affordable and, most importantly, healthful foods to its newly renovated hospital cafeteria.
The new café (former cafeteria), which will debut at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 27 at 11:30 a.m. is the result of a completely redesigned space and bringing in new culinary concepts that are changing the idea of what hospital food can be.
“The new café is a far cry from what most people think of as a typical hospital eatery,” explains Richard Zettergren, Morrison’s Director of Food and Nutrition at Danbury Hospital. “The café’s offerings may surprise employees, visitors, patients and guests who will now be greeted by a brighter café and healthy, gourmet meal options that are comparable to any casual dining restaurant.”
With more than 2600 square feet, the dining area seats 264 guests and will be open seven days a week. Breakfast will be served from 7:15 to 10 a.m.; lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
“Our commitment at Danbury Hospital is to excellence in all that we provide and that extends to the dining experience as well,” says Dr. John Murphy, President and CEO of Western Connecticut Health Network. “This renovation is another example of our continuing efforts to better serve patients, their families and our associates and further supports our goal of enhancing quality of life as patients recover from disabling injuries and illnesses.”
