Dr. Paul Fiedler appointed as Chairman and Laboratory Director

Danbury Hospital announces the appointment of New Haven and New Milford resident Paul N. Fiedler, M.D., as Chairman and Laboratory Director of the Department of Pathology. Dr. Fiedler joins Danbury Hospital from the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven where he served as Chairman of the Department of Pathology.

Dr. Fiedler was President of Pathology Associates and Consultants, P.C. and served as an attending pathologist and Director of Clinical Chemistry at the Hospital of St. Raphael for eighteen years. He is an associate clinical professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine where he also served as assistant clinical professor of Laboratory Medicine.

Dr. Fiedler attained his undergraduate degree from Columbia University in New York and had also attended the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois. He earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, and completed residencies in pathology and laboratory medicine at Yale University School of Medicine where he was chief resident in the Department of Pathology.

A diplomate of the American Board of Pathology, Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and the National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Fiedler is a member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, the American Medical Association, Connecticut Medical Society and New Haven County Medical Association, and a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and College of American Pathologists.

Dr. Fiedler served as a guest editor for the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, has co-authored numerous research publications, abstracts and presentations, and has been issued many United States patents.
