Norwalk, CT - Suma S. Magge, MD, gastroenterologist, has recently joined Norwalk Hospital Physicians and Surgeons.
After receiving her BS degree with Phi Beta Kappa Honors from Trinity College in Hartford, she completed her MD degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington. She served as an intern and resident in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, where she then became Chief Medical Resident, and later, a Clinical Fellow in the Division of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Magge also served as a Teaching Fellow for the Gastrointestinal Pathophysiology Course for Second-Year Medical and Dental students at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. She has received multiple teaching awards including the Excellence in Tutoring Award from The American Center for Teaching and Learning at Harvard Medical School.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Magge has authored several publications on digestive disease topics, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), which is one of her particular areas of interest, in addition to helping patients with common gastrointestinal problems. She has also presented on gastroenterological topics at national scientific meetings.
