Norwalk, CT - "Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer" is the next topic in the Waveny Care Center and Norwalk Hospital lecture series to be presented at the Waveny Care Center in New Canaan on Thursday, November 15, at 4 p.m. Mary Heery, APRN, AOCNS, breast health specialist for the Smilow Family Breast Health Center at Norwalk Hospital, is the featured speaker.
She will discuss the importance of regular screenings for early detection of breast cancer as well as diagnosis and treatments. In her role as a breast health specialist, she helps patients work through, reduce or eliminate barriers to their breast care.
Ms. Heery has more than twenty years of experience working with cancer patients. At the Smilow Family Breast Health Center at Norwalk Hospital, her goal is to provide the best possible care to patients while helping to relieve the anxiety of a potential cancer diagnosis. The focus of the Smilow Family Breast Health Center at Norwalk Hospital is on the patients’ emotional as well as physical needs.
