JFS Clinical Psychologist to Speak about Successful Aging at Atria Stamford

Stamford, CT - What are the best parts of getting older; what are the worst? Share in a discussion, touching on research in the field of aging, and listen to the shared experiences and insights of the attendees about the passages of aging.
Dr. Laurel Schwartz, Coordinator of Jewish Family Life and Education and clinical psychologist at Jewish Family Service, will discuss coming to terms with age-imposed limitations on Monday, September 20th at 2:00 pm at the Atria Stamford, 77 Third Street in Stamford. The lecture is opened to the public.
Dr. Schwartz received her formal training at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York where she was awarded both a Masters in Arts and a PhD in Clinical Psychology. During fifteen years of experience in private practice in New York City, Dr. Schwartz developed her specialization and focus on life transitions, encompassing a range of subjects from marriage, parenthood, divorce, returning to the workplace and aging. Dr. Schwartz has taught the course, “Adult Development and Aging”, at Baruch College, CUNY.
Jewish Family Life Education, a branch of Jewish Family Service, deals with life transitions and programming designed to strengthen individuals and families. These may include bereavement, divorce and other stressful transitions; teen problems such as bullying, body image and self-esteem; parenting challenges; singles programs; eldercare; caregivers’ support; health and fitness.
