Fairfield, CT - The Jewish Home in Fairfield has been named one of the Best Nursing Homes in the U.S. News & World Report Best Nursing Homes Rankings for 2014.

According to the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), about 60 percent of individuals over 65 years old will require some type of long term care services during their lifetime.  More than 40 percent will receive care in a nursing home at some point.

To create Best Nursing Homes 2014, U.S. News & World Report drew on data from Nursing Home Compare, a program run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that sets and enforces standards for nursing homes. The Jewish Home earned the highest rating of 5-Stars in their overall rating in January 2014 under the CMS rating system. The Jewish Home, providing skilled nursing and short term rehabilitation, is just one of the many senior care services offered by Jewish Senior Services.

“We are grateful to the hundreds of employees and volunteers who make such a difference in the lives of so many residents living at The Jewish Home,” remarked Andrew H. Banoff, President & CEO of Jewish Senior Services. “Our 5-star rating is a testament to their dedication and excellence in care giving.”
