Nursing & Home Care, a partner with Mid-Fairfield Hospice, will host its annual fundraising benefit, the Gourmet Gathering on Friday evening, April 30, with Joanne Woodward as the Honorary Chair.

Ms. Woodward, a Westport resident, is considered among the premiere actors in America today. She has effortlessly touched the hearts of millions on the big screen starring in films such as Philadelphia and The Age of Innocence, and later garnered much success while performing and directing in the theater. Today she serves on the Board of Trustees for the Westport County Playhouse, after having spent seven seasons as its artistic director.

The Gourmet Gathering will be held at Le Château, a historic mansion in South Salem, N.Y., renowned for its French cuisine and exceptional views of the Hudson River Valley. This year's New York, New York-themed event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a gourmet meal, fine wine and both live and silent auctions with the chance to bid on a number of popular and unique items.

Guests at Nursing & Home Care's 2010 benefit will enjoy a performance by Joanne Woodward's daughter, celebrated jazz singer Melissa (Lissy) Newman. Ms. Newman also resides in Westport with her husband and two sons, and performs regularly at the Dressing Room with guitarist Tony Lombardozzi.

Proceeds from the Gourmet Gathering will benefit the patients of Nursing & Home Care and Mid-Fairfield Hospice. The Title Sponsor of this year's benefit is The Wilton Bank. Additional sponsors include: Cohen and Wolf, Pfizer, Inc., UHY, LLP, Carol and George Bauer and Kathryn and B.V. Brooks. Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities for the fundraiser are still available, as are program advertising opportunities. Tickets start at $250. For tickets or more information, please call 203-834-6341, ext. 304.
