On Tuesday, September 27, an estimated 100,000 women of all ages will participate in health and fitness events across the country. To get the community involved, The Ridgefield Playhouse will present an on-stage Zumba® workout led by certified Zumba® instructors Jenny Conciatore and Naomi Riek of Ridgefield Fitness Club, LLC, shown here front left to right.
To celebrate National Women’s Health & Fitness Day and energize local ladies, The Ridgefield Playhouse will get women (and men, too!) up and moving! On Tuesday, September 27, The Ridgefield Playhouse will demonstrate that exercise is in fact fun with a colossal Zumba® class! As was the case with this last year’s well-attended event, the goal is to encourage women to take control of their health, learn the facts they need to make smart choices and make time for regular physical activity.
The on-stage Zumba® class will be led by Ridgefield Fitness Certified Zumba® instructors Jenny Conciatore and Naomi Riek. Pre-class activities start in the lobby at 6:30 p.m. followed by the workout at 7:30 p.m. There will be wine and cheese, hair and make-up tips by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa, jewelry and fashion advice and items to purchase from Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs and other surprises. The Zumba® workout consists of easy-to-follow dance steps set to Latin rhythms that inspire movement. People who attend can choose to simply watch and learn. This event is underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa and Lyn Evans Potpourri Designs with media sponsor Star 99.9fm.
More than 1,400 groups across the country will host special events during National Women’s Health & Fitness Day to create awareness of the benefits of life-long exercise. With daily demands pulling women in all directions, carving out time for regular physical activity is challenging, but the popular Zumba® workout, said by some to be addictive, can be a viable option.
