Betty LaBonia, president of the Saint Raphael Auxiliary, presents the group’s annual gift check to Chris O’Connor, Saint Raphael president and CEO.
New Haven, CT - The Hospital of Saint Raphael all-volunteer Auxiliary has presented the hospital with its 2011 gift, a check for $171,800. The Auxiliary raises money each year through special events like its annual golf tournament and sales at the Glass Door Gift Shop and Saint Raphael’s Thrift Store, both located on the hospital campus.
The 2011 gift included $120,800 for the Father Michael J. McGivney Center for Cancer Care, including $15,000 for the Looking Forward program; $50,000 for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit equipment and facility upgrades, and $1,000 for the Obstetrics Bereavement Program. The check was formally presented to Saint Raphael President and CEO Chris O’Connor at the Auxiliary annual meeting in October.
The Auxiliary was founded shortly after Saint Raphael’s opened its doors in 1908 and has raised millions over the years to benefit the hospital and its programs. For more information about the Saint Raphael Auxiliary, visit www.srhs.org/Auxiliary.
