The Watermark at 3030 Park is pleased to announce the recent addition of Dr. Rahul Gupta as Medical Director of The Gardens, the memory care unit of the senior living community located on the Bridgeport/Fairfield line. As Medical Director of The Gardens, Dr. Gupta will be responsible for the management of all residents living with Alzheimer’s and memory loss, coordinating the health care they receive and addressing the concerns of their families.

“Taking care of a patient in their home environment is the best possible way to evaluate their mental health,” said Dr. Gupta. “The Gardens at The Watermark at 3030 Park is more like visiting someone’s home. Residents are relaxed and free to engage in as few or as many activities as they see fit, making it the optimal environment to provide exemplary memory care services.”

Dr. Gupta first visited The Watermark at 3030 Park when he was a guest lecturer for one of the community’s many educational series.

“Following my lecture, I had the opportunity to tour the community, forever changing my perception of long-term assisted living,” said Dr. Gupta. “Combining a homelike feel with luxury, The Watermark at 3030 Park allows its residents to continue living an active, fulfilling lifestyle, while also providing the best available options in health care, if needed.”

The Gardens at The Watermark at 3030 Park has a high caregiver-to-resident ratio, 1 caregiver for every 5 residents, allowing caregivers to provide residents with individualized attention. Additionally, memory care residents can participate in a variety of stimulating programs, such as Watermark University, helping to keep seniors engaged and active, thus slowing the progression of memory loss.

“Dr. Gupta is well-known throughout Fairfield County as a leader in geriatric care, specifically as it relates to memory loss,” said Roger Sliby, Executive Director of The Watermark at 3030 Park. “We’re absolutely thrilled to have him on board as our new Medical Director.”

Dr. Gupta is currently an associate specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics for the private group practice, Goldfarb, Ranno & Associates in Fairfield, and is affiliated with St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.

A graduate of Kasturba Medical College in India, Dr. Gupta completed his residencies in internal medicine at both Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Flushing, NY, and Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica, NY. He also received a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine from Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. Dr. Gupta currently resides in Westport with his wife Dr.Shruti Gupta and their daughter Shriya.
