HARTFORD, CT - Hartford Hospital announced Tuesday the appointment of Tina M. Varona as Media Relations Manager in the Planning and Marketing Department.

Varona comes to Hartford Hospital from Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center where she spent nearly seven years expanding the Hospital’s Media Relations Department. Prior to that, she was an award-winning television journalist for more than 12 years in West Virginia, Connecticut, West Palm Beach and Miami, Fl.

In her new role at Hartford Hospital, she will be responsible for generating media coverage, assisting with the creation of promotional and marketing materials, and produce brand-enhancing messages promoting hospital-wide events and news conferences.

In addition, she will also coordinate and produce live interviews from within the hospital’s television news studio. She will continue to advance the Hartford Hospital News Service (HHNS) with feature writing and the profiling of patient stories for broadcast.
