The New York Islanders announced Thursday that goaltender Anders Nilsson has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL).

Nilsson, 23, was recalled by the Islanders on Nov. 18. In five games with the Islanders, Nilsson went 0-2-2 with a 3.63 GAA and an .873 save percentage. In 11 games with the Sound Tigers this season, he was 3-6-1 with a 3.57 GAA an .880 save percentage.

Nilsson was drafted by the Islanders in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2009 draft. Since leaving the Swedish Elite League for North America prior to the 2011-12 season, Nilsson has had two stints with the Islanders. The first came during the 2011-12 season, when he went 1-2-0 in four games. His only AHL win was a 1-0 shutout win over the New Jersey Devils on March 4, 2012. In 57 AHL games, Nilsson has posted a record of 26-25-3.

The Sound Tigers head to Albany for a 7 p.m. game on Friday before returning home for Pink Rink night against the Providence Bruins Saturday at 7 p.m.
