Costello released from AHL contract

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced they have signed a mutual release agreement with forward Chad Costello, releasing him from his American Hockey League Standard Player's Contract.

Costello, 26, signed an AHL contract with the Sound Tigers on Jan. 9, 2013 after joining the team on a professional tryout contract (PTO) in December. The Johnston, IA native recorded 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 21 games with the Sound Tigers. Costello will return to the ECHL's Colorado Eagles where he posted a league-leading 49 points (14 goals, 35 assists) in 27 games prior to joining the Sound Tigers.
