SPRINGFIELD, MA – Casey Wiseman scored two goals and Colton Fretter added a goal and assist to lead the Springfield Falcons to a 5-2 victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Friday night at the MassMutual Center. With the loss, the Sound Tigers fall below .500 for the first time this season, dropping to 7-8-0-0.

The Falcons got on the board first on the strength of a power-play goal by Liam Reddox at the 7:20 mark of the first period. Alex Plante skated the puck to the left face-off circle and slid a back-door pass through to Reddox who tipped it into the open side of the net for his third tally of the season.

Matt Martin got the Sound Tigers even with a power-play goal of his own with 1:14 left in the first. Dustin Kohn drove a blast from the blue-line which Martin deflected in front of the net past Falcons goaltender Devan Dubynk to tie the score. However, just 15 seconds later, Wiseman cleaned up a rebound following a save by Scott Munroe to make it 2-1 Falcons after one period.

Springfield scored three straight goals in a five minute window early in the second period to take control of the game. Fretter tallied his third goal of the year 1:24 into the period, snapping home a loose rebound from the slot. Wiseman scored his second goal of the game at the 5:35 mark, firing a shot from the blue-line that beat a screened Munroe. One minute later, Colin McDonald netted his fourth tally of the year to make it 5-1.

Brett Westgarth shaved one goal off the Sound Tigers deficit late in the second period, blasting home his first goal as a Sound Tiger with 1:43 left in the period.

The Sound Tigers out-shot the Falcons 36-26. Dubnyk made 34 saves to earn the victory while Munroe stopped 21 shots in the loss.

The Sound Tigers are back home Saturday night when they face the Hartford Wolf Pack in the first meeting after the year between the Connecticut rivals. Face-off at Harbor Yard is set for 7:00 pm. For tickets, please call TicketMaster at 1-800-745-3000.
