"Eric hasn’t played in a while because he's been coaching, but he got the itch to play again and is very anxious to get back in pro hockey," General Manager of Hockey Operations Brendan Tedstone said. "He's a defenseman that puts D first and stays out of the box. He will bring leadership and experience to the team." "He brings a tremendous amount of experience to this team, and with his coaching experience he brings a tremendous amount of leadership as well," Mad Hatters Head Coach Dave MacIsaac said of Eric. The Mad Hatters are scheduled to play 50 games this year and will open their inaugural season on November 1 at 7:30 pm at the Danbury Ice Arena against the Rome/Copper City Chiefs.
