BRIDGEPORT, CT - In a pair of separate transactions, the New York Islanders have returned defenseman Ty Wishart on loan to the Sound Tigers, and Bridgeport has loaned defenseman Benn Olson to the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.
Wishart, 23, appeared in one game with the Islanders during his first call-up of the 2011-12 season and did not record a point. The 6’4, 222-pound defenseman returns to the Sound Tigers where he shows four goals and 11 assists in 48 games this season.
Olson, 24, heads to Greenville for his second stint in the ECHL this season. The Port McNeil, BC native has recorded one goal and 74 penalty minutes in 17 games with the Sound Tigers this season, as well as 46 penalty minutes in 11 games with the Alaska Aces.
