BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today they have signed defenseman Jon Landry to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Landry, 28, joins the Sound Tigers after an impressive start to the 2011-12 season with the Colorado Eagles (ECHL) where he's recorded 12 goals and 18 assists in 35 games. The 6-3, 220-pound defenseman earns his first AHL stint since the 2005-06 season when he appeared in two games with the Portland Pirates. In his professional career spanning five different leagues, Landry has totaled 67 goals and 153 assists in 305 games.

The Sound Tigers visit Manchester to take on the Monarchs tonight before returning home for a two-game homestand this weekend. The Sound Tigers host their annual Pink Rink Night on Saturday, Jan. 14 when they welcome the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m., and close out the weekend on Sunday afternoon when they host the reigning Calder Cup Champion Binghamton Senators at 3:00 p.m.
