BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that they have signed two players, forward Matt Lowry and defenseman Scooter Vaughan, to professional tryout contracts (PTO).

He played three full seasons in the Western Hockey League from 2006-2009, skating with both the Medicine Hat Tigers and Brandon Wheat Kings. Lowry earned his only 12 games of AHL experience in 2009-10, when he played with the Binghamton Senators.

Vaughan, 24, played in 20 games for the South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) this season and scored eight points (two goals, six assists). He has a total of 90 games ECHL experience over the last three seasons with South Carolina and the Wheeling Nailers and has 34 points (nine goals, 25 assists). He was also a four-year player at the University of Michigan from 2007-2011.

The Sound Tigers head to Albany for a 7 p.m. game on Friday before returning home for Pink Rink night against the Providence Bruins Saturday at 7 p.m.
