State's top HS hockey team to play at Webster Bank Arena

BRIDGEPORT, CT - Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment announced Thursday that the undefeated Fairfield Prep boys’ hockey team will play Hamden High School at Webster Bank Arena on Saturday, February 2, 2013.

The regular-season CIAC game will start at 1:00 p.m.

“Fans have been enjoying our high school sporting events this season. This game will surely be one of the most exciting,” said Howard Saffan, president of Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment, which manages Webster Bank Arena.

The arena hosted the annual Northeast Christmas Classic basketball tournament and the New Year’s Eve Hockey Faceoff tournament in December. The Harbor Yard Classic basketball tournament takes place Friday.

Fairfield Prep sits atop the CIAC Div. I rankings with a 10-0 record. The Jesuits are No. 1 in the New Haven Register’s state Top 10 poll. Hamden is ranked 7th with a 5-5-1 record.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and children age 12 and under. Tickets are available at the Webster Bank Arena Click It Or Ticket Box Office on gameday.

Webster Bank Arena is southern Connecticut’s premier sports and entertainment venue. The Arena is conveniently located off Interstate 95 exit 27 and Route 8 exit 1 at 600 Main Street, Bridgeport. Upcoming events include Harlem Globetrotters, Monster Jam, the NCAA Division I women’s basketball regional championship and Life In Color.
