The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC) announces the hiring of Kathryn Myler as its new Development Associate. In this position, Myler will provide a wide range of support to help build the CGC’s fund development program and awareness of the CGC’s services in the community.

Myler joins CGC to fill a vital organizational role in fund development and grants management. In today’s economic climate, CGC understands the pressure on grantmakers to make prudent choices in funding organizations that can demonstrate programmatic impact and outcomes.

This essential position communicates with existing grantmakers and seeks to uncover new funding sources that foster community collaborations that further the ever growing need for accessible mental health services for children and adolescents in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, and Stamford, Connecticut.

Prior to joining the CGC, Myler spent the past three years as the Development Associate of Episcopal Community Services in San Diego, California. “We are excited to welcome Kathryn to the Development Office. Her past non-profit experience will enhance the department’s structure, while her passion for community service will infuse a renewed sense of outreach and awareness,” says Sherry Perlstein, Executive Director. Myler holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Concordia University in Montréal, Canada.

The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut is a non-profit mental health resource, serving children and teenagers in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan, both self referred and through referrals from schools, physicians, courts, and public and private human service agencies. CGC’s clinical staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and marriage and family therapists work with more than 2,300 children annually, providing culturally competent and sensitive care to families representative of the rich ethnic mix of communities CGC serves. Preventative services are provided to youngsters, parents, and professionals through community education and consultation programs. Incorporated in 1954, CGC is supported by the Connecticut Department of Children & Families, Connecticut Office of Victim Crime Services, United Ways of Greenwich and Western Connecticut. CGC is a beneficiary of generous individual, foundation, and corporate contributions. www.childguidancect.org
