The Fairfield County Public Relations Association (FCPRA) has announced its new board of directors. Redding resident Kim DePra has been elected president for the 2010-2011 term. She is director of marketing for The Ashforth Company, a 114-year-old, diversified, commercial real estate firm headquartered in Stamford, Conn. She succeeds Ken Lempit, founder and owner of HomeESP.com in Wilton, Conn., who served as FCPRA president for the past four years. Under his leadership, the organization has grown from 30 members to a membership of more than 100.

“I am excited at the opportunity to take FCPRA to another level and expand on the vision established by my predecessors,” said DePra. “Several of our new goals include continuing to provide first-rate speakers and programming for senior public relations, marketing and communications executives; increase our client-side membership; and possibly changing our name to better reflect the diversity of our current membership.”

Other newly elected officers include:

Rob Seitz, of Mamaroneck, owner of Rob Seitz Communications in Mamaroneck, N.Y., who was elected vice president;

Nancy Pitts, of New Canaan, marketing communications director at Momentive Performance Materials, was elected treasurer; and

Fred Iannotti, of Hyde Park, Vermont, president of Iannotti Communications LLC, was re-elected recording secretary.

In addition to Lempit, returning FCPRA directors include: Ed Bloch, an independent consultant in Westport; Barbara Burnside of Burnside Communications in Ridgefield; Deborah Hirsch of Deborah DiSesa Hirsch Communications in Stamford; Melissa LoParco, vice president/public relations director for Catalyst Marketing Communications in Stamford; Kerry Safir of Spencer Trask in Greenwich; Randy Savicky, president of Strategy + Communications in Weston; Rich Sharp of MarketWire in New York City; and Arun Sinha, president/owner of Access Consulting, Inc. in Stamford.
