Norwalk residents Jennifer Lima, Nancy Montour and Connie Spearman, all branch managers at First County Bank, were recently promoted to assistant vice president/branch manager positions.
“Jennifer, Nancy and Connie are all excellent leaders in their respective branches and have proven their commitment to the bank and their communities,” said Katherine Harris, senior vice president retail banking at First County Bank. “These women deserve their promotions to officer status because they have gone above and beyond the branch manager role. All three have demonstrated natural leadership abilities and inspire confidence and respect from their teams.”
Jennifer Lima, 32, started her banking career in Guatemala in 1997 while attending the University of San Carlos as a business administration major. She joined First County Bank as a teller in 2001 working in the Stamford High Ridge office. She was quickly promoted to teller supervisor in 2002 and became assistant branch manager in the Shippan Avenue branch in 2004. Since January 2008, Lima has been the Shippan branch manager.
“Jennifer has been very pro-active in business development and demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills with her staff and senior management,” said Harris.
Lima graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance & Management in 2007 and has taken various courses in leadership and teambuilding. She is an active member of the Stamford Kawanis Club and lives with her husband and son in Norwalk.
Nancy Montour
Nancy Montour, 27, joined First County Bank as a teller in 2000. She worked her way through the ranks of customer service and assistant branch manager at the Norwalk (Merritt 7) branch while also spending a year in the bank’s training and development department enhancing her teamwork and staff development skills. Since 2006, Montour has been the branch manager for the Springdale office.
“Nancy maintains a high standard of success in exceeding deposit and loan sales, and has been recognized for achieving various awards in performance excellence,” said Harris.
Montour earned an associate’s degree in accounting/general studies from Norwalk Community College and is working toward her bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Bridgeport. She also is an active member of the Young Professionals in Stamford and participates in the Norwalk and Stamford Chambers of Commerce. Montour lives in Norwalk with her daughter.
Connie Spearman, 35, joined First County Bank in 1996 as a part-time teller at the Prospect Street branch. Within six months, she was promoted to a full-time customer service representative and in 1998 was promoted to CSR II. In 1999, Spearman was made an assistant branch manager of the Glenbrook office, and in 2007 promoted to branch manager of the Norwalk office on Westport Avenue.
Connie Spearman
Spearman has been a member of the NAACP since 2007 and is an active member of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce. She has been awarded the Presidents Council Award by the Savings Bank Life Insurance Co. of Connecticut four times (2004, 2006-2008). And in 2004, she was awarded “Top Rookie Producer of the Year” in Connecticut by SBLI.
“Connie’s excellent experience combined with her strong knowledge of the business makes this promotion well deserved,” said Harris, adding, “She goes beyond what is expected and demonstrates a systematic approach to her responsibilities.”
Spearman graduated from the Connecticut School of Finance & Management in 2006 and has taken a number of professional courses offered by the American Bankers Association. Currently, she is working toward her bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Phoenix. Spearman hopes to graduate in 2010. She lives in Norwalk with her two children.
