Stepping Stones Museum for Children is pleased to announce BooZoo’s Canine Carnival June 4 and 5 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, a two-day event on museum grounds. Featuring dozens of vendors, performances, educational presentations, food and fun throughout the weekend, 100% of the proceeds from the event will support early childhood initiatives.

In addition, Dr. Marty Goldstein, considered to be one of America’s foremost holistic veterinarians and who also cares for famous pups including Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey’s dogs, is scheduled to make a guest appearance on June 4 at 2 pm.

Building on the museum’s commitment to promote early childhood development and reading literacy for young children, BooZoo’s Canine Carnival will introduce BooZoo, a character from Tot Town, the museum’s toddler space. He’s characterized as an adorable toy puppy who is very smart, incurably curious, loves reading books and telling stories of his adventures with members of his Tot Town family.

The weekend event kicks off Saturday, June 4 when canine professionals take center stage. Performances include the American Kennel Club Meet the Breeds showcasing dogs from the Westminster, a Dog Agility Show and a Working Dogs Expo.

Sunday, June 5, it’s B.Y.O.D (bring your own dog) for BooZoo’s first ever Dog Walk and Pooch Parade. Stepping off at 1 pm, participants are encouraged to get sponsors for their dog, dress them up in a favorite costume and walk for a great cause. The dog that secures the most sponsors for the walk will receive a $1,000 gift certificate to Delamar Hotel in Greenwich, CT. Great Pooch Parade Prizes will be awarded for the Pooch with the Best Smooch, Best BooZoo Look-a-Like, Best Dressed Dog and Best Tail Wagger.

Other activities and attractions that will be held throughout the weekend include BooZoo puppets, Fido’s Food Court and Canine Cinema. The cost to attend BooZoo’s Canine Carnival is $5 a day plus museum admission. BooZoo’s Dog Walk is $25 per dog; walkers are free. Walkers and up to five guests will receive 50% off museum admission on the day of the walk. All proceeds support early childhood initiatives.

The Champion Sponsor for Canine Carnival is Blue Buffalo. For additional information and details about registration, visit www.steppingstonesmuseum.org/CanineCarnival.

Who is Boo Zoo:

He’s the adorable, lab/beagle mix, toy puppy who lives in Tot Town at the museum, an exhibit for infants and toddlers up to age three. He is very smart, incurably curious, loves reading books and telling stories of his adventures with members of his Tot Town family, including his buddy Sherlock, the blood hound who lives in Healthyville. BooZoo symbolizes early childhood development and reading literacy which is why he’s often shown reading to children.

Stepping Stones Museum for Children is an award winning, private, non-profit 501 (c )(3) children’s museum committed to broadening and enriching the lives of children.
