Frustrated by Linda McMahon’s relentless negative campaign and her failure to answer questions on Social Security and Medicare, a group of seniors Tuesday called on McMahon to stop her attack ads and let voters know where she stands. The seniors released a letter outlining their concerns.

“We are looking for answers and all we get from you are excuses and negative attacks. As senior citizens, we are alarmed by your refusal to tell us where you stand on Social Security and Medicare, while at the same time, you try to scare and mislead us with negative attack mailers,” the seniors wrote.

On the campaign trail, Linda McMahon has repeatedly said she will not take a position on Social Security or Medicare during the campaign. Even when pressed on whether she supports Social Security privatization or raising the age for Medicare, she refuses to let voters know where she stands. “By failing to take a position on these important issues, you are telling seniors you would consider privatizing Social Security, putting our future in risky financial markets, and raising the age on Medicare. You call for a Balanced Budget Amendment without specifics, leaving Social Security vulnerable to massive, and for us, life-changing, cuts,” wrote the seniors.

The seniors also chided McMahon for sending out negative mailings regarding Medicare, saying that the flyers are misrepresenting the facts to scare seniors.

“We want clear answers and all we get are your negative attack mailers. These mailers aren’t meant to inform us, they are only meant to confuse and scare us with false and misleading statements,” said the letter.
