Jerry Farrell, Jr. of Wallingford, Connecticut will announce his campaign to seek statewide office on January 19, 2010 beginning at 3 pm. The announcement will take place at Component Engineers, Incorporated on 108 North Plains Industrial Road in Wallingford, Connecticut.
Jerry Farrell, Jr. currently serves as the Commissioner of the state Department of Consumer Protection. He was appointed by Governor M. Jodi Rell on December 29, 2006. During his tenure as Commissioner, Farrell has worked tirelessly to protect Connecticut residents from identity theft and protect Connecticut children from unsafe toys. In addition, Farrell worked diligently to keep tainted food off Connecticut store shelves.
Commissioner Farrell had served as Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Consumer Protection since being appointed by Governor Rell in September 2004. Prior to serving as Deputy Commissioner, Farrell was in the private practice of law for 11 years.
