Martin L. Heft, Chairperson of Love Makes a Family PAC , announced that after careful consideration of each candidate’s record and questionnaire responses on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues, LMF PAC has endorsed the following candidates for Connecticut constitutional offices:

Governor – Dan Malloy
Malloy has been a great leader on issues important to the LGBT community. He has been a longstanding, vocal supporter of full marriage equality for same-sex couples in Connecticut, and a steadfast supporter of gender identity and expression anti-discrimination legislation He has never changed his position or stepped back on these issues. His comfort level and his continued support of marriage equality garner his support for Governor. Dan's longstanding leadership for LGBT rights is one part of his vision for Connecticut.

Lieutenant Governor – Nancy Wyman
Wyman has been a long time advocate and supporter of the LGBT community. During her 16 year tenure as Comptroller she fought to remove the Boy Scouts of America from participating in the state’s charitable giving campaign due to non-compliance with the state’s non-discrimination polices. Over the years, she has been an ardent supporter of full marriage equality, and is seen and heard throughout our community to protect LGBT civil rights, including gender identity and expression anti-discrimination.

Secretary of State – Denise Merrill
Merrill served 17 years as State Representative and her voting record demonstrate her support to ensure equal rights for LGBT people. She stands with us as she seeks higher office and promises to continue her advocacy for the Connecticut LGBT community.

Treasurer - Denise Nappier
First elected in 1998, Nappier has been constant supporter of our
community. She affirmed her support by testifying for marriage equality and was honored by Lambda Legal (oldest LGBT civil rights organization) in 2007 for her advocacy.

Comptroller - Kevin Lembo
Lembo has been a policy leader in health care, consumer protection, government efficiency and accountability. He served 7 years as Assistant Comptroller. As the first openly gay person running for Constitutional office in our state, he holds our values close. He also was endorsed by the Washington, DC-based Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund

LMF PAC will be making endorsements for Connecticut State Senate and Representative races in mid-July.

Love Makes a Family Political Action Committee (LMF PAC) was formed in 2002 and is dedicated to electing candidates to state office who support equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in
Connecticut.
