Former Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy came out victorious at the Democratic primaries on Tuesday after trailing Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont for much of the race.
In the Republican primaries for governor, Tom Foley managed to edge out Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele and Oz Griebel.
For Lt. Governor, the democrats elected Dan Malloy's running mate Nancy Wyman and the republicans picked Tom Foley's choice for the ticket - Mark Boughton.
In the race for Senator, Linda McMahon won with a wide margin the Republican race against Rob Simmons and Peter Schiff. She will face Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who was unopposed on the Democratic side.
For other statewide offices, the main opponents in the general election shape up to be:
Secretary of the State: Denise Merrill (D) - Jerry Farrell (R)
Attorney General: George Jepsen (D) - Martha Dean (R)
Comptroller: Kevin Lembo (D) - Jack Orchulli (R)
Treasurer: Denise Nappier (D) - Jeff Wright (R)
