Just over a month after Ridgefield's First Selectman Rudy Marconi officially announced his candidacy for governor of Connecticut he is withdrawing from the campaign trail.

In an e-mail that he sent out from his campaign, he announced his decision to end his bid for the governor's office without giving a specific cause.

In the same statement, he was quick to extend his support to one of the two frontrunning democratic tickets - Ned Lamong and Mary Glassman.

"We have some challenging days ahead of us, but I believe that with hard work and the right leadership, they can also be great days. That’s why I support Ned Lamont and Mary Glassman. Together they represent the best of what Connecticut has to offer," said Mr. Marconi in his e-mail.
