The Canaiden Online Media Network reported that traffic peaked over 350% above the average during the weekend of hurricane Irene’s arrival in Connecticut as the network established a dedicated storm headquarters page and provided continuous updates of the news around the event.
Just before and during the storm, Canaiden enhanced the home pages of its local news website portfolio to highlight the storm’s path as well as deliver news related to the event.

It appears that no other major local network, tracked directly QuantCast had a larger percentage increase in the visitorship during the storm’s weekend.
