WATERBURY, CT - Guilford resident Kathy Luria participated recently in an expert panel at a Philanthropy Day Conference held by the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Waterbury, Conn., which was attended by more than 300 fundraising professionals from around the region. The day-long event held on November 17th included several workshops, an awards luncheon, and a “mega session” expert panel that discussed “New Trends in Corporate and Foundation Giving” and included Kathy Luria, Webster Bank’s vice president, community affairs.

In this capacity at Webster’s corporate headquarters in Waterbury, Conn., Luria oversees the corporate philanthropic arm of the bank through donations and sponsorships and leads volunteer initiatives across a four-state footprint. She also helps guide Webster employees in accomplishing a key part of Webster’s mission “to give of ourselves in the communities we serve.”

National Philanthropy Day is the special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy — and those people active in the philanthropic community — have made to our lives, our communities and our world. The 27th annual National Philanthropy Day Conference, presented by the state’s two Association of Fundraising Professionals chapters, provided extensive education and training opportunities for fundraising professionals from throughout Connecticut. Webster Bank was also a sponsor of the November 17th conference.
