Al Mirin joins Cushman & Wakefield

Seasoned real estate professional to lead firm’s regional Investment Sales and Private Capital Group

STAMFORD, CT - Al Mirin, one of the most accomplished commercial real estate professionals in Fairfield and Westchester Counties, has joined Cushman & Wakefield as senior director, Investment Sales, the company announced today.

Mr. Mirin has been recognized as a leader in investment sales in the region for the past 20 years. In his new role, he will be a leader in Cushman & Wakefield’s regional Investment Sales and Private Capital Group, specializing in middle market building sales ranging from $2 - $15 million. In his new position, Mr. Mirin will be able to enhance his value proposition with his clients, advising them on how to increase long-term asset value when the time comes to monetize that asset whether through sale or financing.

Mr. Mirin previously served as senior vice president at CBRE in Stamford, specializing in investment properties. In that capacity, he acted as advisor in more than 20 million square feet of transactions, totaling in excess of $8 billion. He headed the office’s Private Client Group, focusing on sales and strategic consulting on behalf of owners of office, industrial, retail and multi-housing properties in Fairfield and Westchester Counties.

Kate Schwartz, an associate of Mr. Mirin at CBRE, has also joined his team. Ms. Schwartz began her career as an associate at CBRE in 2007 and has since assisted in the completion of over $200 million in sales spanning all property types including industrial, office and retail. Ms. Schwartz will join Mr. Mirin in spearheading Cushman & Wakefield’s regional Private Capital Group where she will provide a diverse set of capabilities in the areas of brokerage, marketing and operations.

At Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Mirin joins former colleague Jim Fagan, who heads the firm’s Fairfield and Westchester County region. Mr. Fagan joined Cushman & Wakefield from CBRE in 2003.

Mr. Mirin’s career achievements include being named CBRE’s “Top Producer,” Westchester/Fairfield County; Top Producer, CBRE Private Client Group in 2008-2009; Reckson Associates Broker of the Year, Westchester/Fairfield County; and Volunteer Action Center, Volunteer of the Year.

Mr. Mirin has been a member of several industry and business organizations including the Real Estate Finance Association; the Westchester County Bar Association; and the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. He serves as board president of both the Human Services Council of Norwalk and 40 South Main Street, a 40-unit shelter in Norwalk, CT.

Mr. Mirin received a Bachelor of Science in Finance, School of Management, at the State University of New York at Binghamton. He and his family reside in New Canaan, CT.
