STAMFORD, CT - Planning Board Chair Theresa Dell today announced that the Board has scheduled a public workshop on the Master Plan Update for Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Ferguson Library, 3rd Floor Auditorium, 96 Broad Street. At that time, consultant BFJ Planning will present results of the recent round of neighborhood workshops conducted in September and October and obtain direction on a series of recommended policies for development throughout the City. This workshop will also discuss alternative development scenarios where they have been identified in the neighborhood workshops. The Master Plan is a key policy and planning document that will inform the course of planning and development in Stamford over the next ten years.
“The Planning Board was very pleased with the level of interest and participation in its recent series of Neighborhood Workshops. We had high attendance at each of these workshops, and participants provided a great deal of direction to the planning process. We thank everyone for their participation, and we are very hopeful that our local residents, business leaders, property owners, community organizations and other stakeholders will remain involved as we move closer to developing Plan recommendations”, Board Chair Dell commented.
The project is being carried out by the City of Stamford Planning Department in conjunction with the consultant team of BFJ Planning, Perkins Eastman, Urbanomics and Stantec. The team conducted a citywide Public Workshop in May and has been meeting with local agencies, departments, nonprofits and business groups to get a better understanding of the development history and issues facing Stamford.
